Our Admissions staff is here to help you learn more about our school and guide you through our admissions process. Let’s get started.
Easy Three Step Admissions Process
- Take a Tour
- Observe a Classroom and Meet with Director of Admissions
- Submit Your Online Application – Applications submitted by February 22 are given priority consideration, however, we welcome observations and will continue to accept applications until we are fully enrolled.
Take a Tour
A tour is your opportunity to visit Sunstone and learn about what we do.
When you visit, you will tour our spacious campus with our Director of Admissions and Head of School, Cathy Newman. You will learn about Montessori education, our programs, who we are, and what we do. Time is set aside at the end for questions and answers. Please note that tours are for adults only.
Schedule a tour to get started.
Observe a Classroom and Meet with Director of Admissions
Following the tour you will have the opportunity to schedule a classroom observation where you will sit in a classroom for 20 minutes to see the Montessori approach in action. This observation will give you an idea of what school will be like for your child. If you are familiar with Montessori, the observation is still a great way to for you to see what Sunstone is all about. You will also have the opportunity to meet with Cathy, our Director of Admissions and Head of School, to get more detailed information about Montessori education and our program, and ask any further questions you may have.
Observations and meetings with the Director of Admissions are for adults only.
Submit Your Application
Applying is easy using our Online Application. We encourage families to apply online as it simplifies submission and provides parents a tool for tracking the status of their admission online after their application has been submitted. A non-refundable fee of $75 must be submitted with each application.
We consider balancing enrollment for age and gender, suitability of the child and the family to the Montessori approach, and (in the case of older children) prior Montessori experience. Priority consideration is given to applications received by February 22. After February 22 we welcome observations and will continue to accept applications until we are fully enrolled in accordance with our enrollment guidelines.
Acceptance and Enrollment
Once you are accepted, you will receive an acceptance letter and enrollment contract. Typically acceptance letters are sent out in March. A completed enrollment contract will reserve your child’s space at Sunstone Montessori!
