Homer Chin

Background: Dr. Homer Chin is an adjunct professor at Oregon Health & Sciences University. He was previously associate medical director at Kaiser Permanente Northwest until his retirement in 2013. His older son attended Sunstone (2012 – 2017).

Dr. Chin is on the board of OCHIN–a nonprofit health IT organization, and on the board of the Tucker Maxon School–a unique co-enrollment school where deaf/hard-of-hearing and normal hearing children learn together using listening and spoken language. He volunteers as a teacher of English as a second language and works with elementary school children who are behind in their reading skills.

Born in Okinawa, he grew up in the Sudan and Hong Kong before coming to the US at age 16 to attend college. He has lived in Portland since 1993.
