Below is the list of needed items that will help support families in need at Arleta and Whitman Elementary Schools .

Please bring your items to the office Feb 16th – March 17th.

We have made an Amazon wish list in case that is an easier way for your family to contribute.

Clothing:

  • new or like-new clothing in children sizes 4-12
  • unisex sweatpants, sizes 4-10; more of the younger sizes
  • rainproof shoe sizes for ages 4-12
  • boys underwear, all sizes
  • sweaters
  • pants
  • outerwear
  • anything rain-proof including shoes

Sensory items to add to classroom calming spaces:

  • quiet fidgets
  • other soothing small toys

Toiletries and Consumables

  • bandaids in all skin tones
  • tampons/pads/wipes
  • shelf stable snacks

Visa Gift Cards

  • Amazon wish list (includes Visa gift cards, clothing, toiletries & sensory items)

Full Details – Share the Love Donation Drive 2023

We are excited to work with you again to share some love with the surrounding neighborhood communities. Two of the local public schools, Arleta Elementary School and Whitman Elementary School, serve many low-income families and need resources we can provide, namely: clothing, sensory items, and toiletries (unopened only).

New or like-new items can be donated from home or they can be purchased on our Amazon wish list. However, there is also great need for financial assistance so we are trying out a gift card option this year with Whitman.

Our contact shared that many families struggle making rent, paying utilities, and buying groceries. If you are comfortable donating in this way, we now have Visa cards available on our Amazon list. We will collect the cards and give them to Whitman’s student support team to distribute to families as needed. 

Donation boxes will be available in the Sunstone office from February 17th through March 17th.
