Lastly, it is tradition to show Carolann and Emilie our appreciation at the end of the year with a gift. Checks can be made out to Carrie Folkestad. Please have all contributions in by June 10th. There will also be cards available to write a personal note to Carolann and Emilie. From Carolann – Classroom News & Noon Dismissal June 14

Dear Parents of the Butterfly Community,

I hope all of you amazing mothers had a fabulous Mother’s Day!

Our Earth Day celebration was perfect. The weather was just right for gardening. Thank you to Christine (mom to Aiden) and Cristen (mom to Cora) for volunteering your time with the children as they worked hard outside in our gardens, inside planting seeds, and doing craft projects. Thank you for plants from our wish list to grace our garden beds. We all enjoyed planting flowers, spreading soil and bark chips, and filling bird feeders. Our outdoor space has never looked so good!

It was nice to talk with each of you during conferences. I enjoy sharing about my time with your child and hearing more about their lives. Thank you for your support and trust.

We received our Painted Lady caterpillars earlier this month and watched as they changed from tiny into big, plump caterpillars, and then make their chrysalises. We moved them into our big butterfly net and watched as they all emerged last week. We added flowers and fruit to feed them and admired them in the classroom before releasing them into our gardens on Friday. What glorious weather for them to move out into nature. I hope we see them around our gardens!

From Carolann – 3/20

Hello families,

I just wanted to check in with all of you after the very sad news that was shared yesterday. I am not sure how many of you, if any, shared this news with your children, and that is completely fine. I just wanted to let you know that in the classroom there has been absolutely no conversation or discussion about it. The children are unaware and oblivious to the tragedy. They are working happily as if all is well in the world. And, in their world all is well.
I am sure they can sense that Emilie and I are emotional, and yesterday was a very difficult day for all of us. I know those of you picking up children at 3:00 yesterday experienced a lot of sad parents, children, and staff. The wider school community is reeling and there is still a lot of hugging, crying, tearful moments, and processing for us all. It seems our little world in the Butterfly classroom is protected from most of that and the children are happy and well.
I will continue to watch for any signs and listen for any conversations to support the children as may be needed. This could still come up in the days and months to come and each person processes news of death differently.
I am happy you all have next week with your families. Love them and hold them tight. Please let me know if you have any questions at all.
Love and hugs,
Carolann

From Carolann – December News

December 10, 2018

Dear Parents of the Butterfly Community,

Happy winter! I wish each of you a wonderful, relaxing holiday with your families. I hope you enjoy your time together celebrating the season in your own special way.

Winter

Our Winter Solstice celebration and Winter Sing is Friday, December 14th beginning at 1:00 with joyful singing from children of all Children’s House classrooms together. We will pass your child to you after singing in the commons and ask that you return to our classroom to begin your craft making. We hope you delight in visiting the various classrooms to make crafts and gifts for giving. Happy Winter Solstice to you!

We added little white lights into our classroom to go along with stories of adding light into the darkest days of winter. They add just the sparkle and light we have needed on these dark and gray mornings.

Thank you to the families who have shared holiday traditions by sending in your stars with favorite rituals your family enjoys. We are having fun reading them and hanging them around the classroom.

We have been celebrating winter and the holidays with stories of different cultures and traditions, books, songs, and related art and practical life activities. It is fun and interesting to learn and share.

Happy Birthday Emilie

We will celebrate Emilie’s birthday this week. Emilie has a birthday at the end of December and we are happy to share a day in her honor. Happy Birthday wishes Emilie!

Goodbye & Good Luck

We said goodbye to two friends at the end of November. Both Jack and Olivia have moved to different schools. We bid them farewell and wish them both the very best of luck in their new adventures. We enjoyed our time together.

Gratitude

Thank you to Katherine and family for the lovely fabric squares for our sewing work. They are happy and fun! We appreciate your thoughtfulness.

Thank you to the families of Lila and Fern for the delicious snack ingredients, lovely flowers, and milk for lunch each day. Thank you for adding to the daily life in the classroom.

Thank you to the families of Cora and Fern for helping with our classroom laundry for the month of December. We are grateful for your time.

Thank you to our amazing room parents; Carrie, Christine, and Vanessa for organizing our classroom craft projects for the Winter Solstice. And, we thank you for all you do to bring families together.

Upcycle

A special thought to share is that your child’s easel paintings can make beautiful wrapping paper for gift giving.

If you send a bag in with your child this week we can send their work home and have a fresh start in the New Year.

Don’t Miss This!

Mark your calendars for our Journey and Discovery, Friday and Saturday, January 18th and 19th. Come join us in the classrooms and get intimate experience with the materials and the work your children are doing and the work to come in the next levels. Come spend time with all of our guides and play with us! It is a very exciting and profound experience. I hope you can join us.

Drop-off Help

We are asking for your help as we return in January with drop-off in the mornings. Thank you all for your efforts to arrive on time, it makes a big difference in how your child starts their day.

We have realized it is pertinent to revisit the rules regarding morning drop-off. As part of our partnership with the neighbors in this community, we have agreed that, in order to ease congestion during peak arrival times, all arrivals between 8:10 and 8:25 must occur on the blacktop via the drive through drop-off lanes. Please do not park and walk your child to the front door during this window of time. It is imperative that we abide by this rule; recently we have received complaints from neighbors about this issue. Thank you for working together with us to keep us in good standing with our neighborhood agreement, and for helping us maintain a smooth, orderly drop-off procedure!

If you have any questions regarding this, please let me know. Thank you for your cooperation.

I wish you all a magical, joyous, relaxing and harmonious holiday with your families over the winter break. It is a gift to spend my days with your children. Stay warm and cozy. I look forward to seeing you in the New Year!

With love and gratitude,

Carolann

“Green” Changes

We have made a couple of changes I would like to share with you. We are now using individual jars for the children’s coffee grinding work. These will remain on the shelf until full and can then be taken home and emptied into the family supply and jar returned for future use. We have pouches for small cutting work that can be stored and filled up, then taken home if desired and pouch returned. Most of the cutting work is encouraged to be added to our basket to be used for gluing and collage work. If you happen to have any cloth bags that you may get when purchasing new sheets for the beds, we would love the bags to offer the children for hats, gloves, and such to hang on their hook under their coats. And, lastly, I would like to discourage backpacks being brought to school, especially if they are only holding a lunchbox. Just send in the lunchbox! Many children have a hard time managing them and they take up quite a lot of space in our closet area. Thank you for your consideration in this.

Upcoming

This week we welcome Amelia, a student from the Montessori training center here in Portland. As part of her training she spends time in classrooms observing and later practice teaching. We are happy to have her and share in her experience.

Mark your calendars for ‘The Importance of the Kindergarten Year’, Tuesday, November 13th at 4:00 in the Butterfly classroom. All Children’s House guides; Anna, Melissa, and myself will join together to give you an idea of what the culminating year in the Children’s House cycle looks like and how rich and exciting the work is. I hope you will join us!

Our Thanksgiving feast is Wednesday, November 21st. We will have noon dismissal on that day. We will have a classroom sign up available soon, as we will share a potluck lunch with items you help provide. Parents are invited to join us at 11:30 for dessert and socializing. You are then welcome to take your child at noon and begin your holiday weekend. I look forward to celebrating in this simple way with you and coming together as a community.

I am so happy to share my days with your children and treasure our days in the Butterfly classroom.

With love,

Carolann

From Carolann – September Monthly News

Dear Parents of the Butterfly Community,

Happy autumn! Our classroom community is coming together as we have welcomed new friends and reconnected with old friends. It is wonderful to have the children fill the classroom, return to cherished work with excitement, fall back into routines, and welcome new friends with grace. We work on living peacefully together showing respect and care to one another and our environment. I am honored to have this opportunity to know each family and share in your child’s life.

Thank you to those families who were able to attend our Back to School night. It is a great opportunity to come together. I hope you found the highlights helpful.

Room Parents

Changing Seasons and Birthdays

Our days are beginning to feel the change in season as we honor Autumn Equinox. We share stories, books and songs of the season. We will add a season tray to our classroom and would welcome any interesting items from nature that children would like to bring in and share.

We celebrated our first birthday of the year. Cora turned five years old. She shared happy photos of her life and a lovely snack to share with friends. Happiest Birthday wishes Cora!

From Carolann – Highlights from our Back to School Night

September 13th, 2018

Additionally, please refer to the Community Handbook

This night is an opportunity to ask general questions about the routine in the Butterfly Classroom, Children’s House community, and about the beginning of the school year.  We talk about the different areas of the classroom, what a lesson is, and what ‘a day in the life’ looks like for the child, from beginning to end. Also, parents have an opportunity to meet one another and share dialogue about their children, their experiences, and Montessori education.

We are so happy to welcome new families and friends into our Butterfly community.

Communication

Please feel free to contact me through email, send a note with your child, or leave a message with the office if you wish to talk with me or check in for any reason. I am happy to talk with you by phone or email or set up a time to meet in person. I will make myself available.

Please communicate any unusual circumstances occurring at home that may affect your child’s disposition. It could be as little as a rough morning, dad being out of town, or grandma visiting; or as big as moving, the loss of a pet, etc. This will help me to understand more fully where your child is and be compassionate to each child’s situation. If your child has a hard drop off or an emotional morning, please feel free to call the school and someone will come peek at them in the classroom during our morning and reassure you that they are doing well.

Room Parents

Our room parents this year are Carrie Folkestad (mom to Bailey), Christine Lazo (mom to Aiden), and Vanessa Gillis (mom to Fern). They are here to work with me to bring our community together, offer social time to connect, support the classroom, and answer all of your questions! If they do not know the answer they will find out for you. These parents have been with the Butterfly community, some through several children, and they are all great ambassadors of our school.

Attendance

Arrival and drop off is available from 8:10 to 8:25 each morning. Please make every effort to arrive during this time. I would like to emphasize the importance of a timely arrival. When your child arrives with the other children of our community he is part of our morning preparation. This allows your child to transition into their day smoothly. Our drive through procedure for drop off is in place to allow for quick good-byes as your child starts their day into our school. If you do walk your child in on occasion, please say a quick good bye at the door and we will take them from there. Dismissal times are 1:00 for the morning children and 3:00 for those children who stay for a longer day. Please schedule appointments outside of our regular school hours as best you can. Thank you for your cooperation.

We ask that you contact the school office before 9:00 am each day if your child will not be at school, attendance@sunstonemontessori.org. If we have not heard from you, expect a telephone call or email confirming that your child is home with you. We need to account for each child, in each classroom community. Thank you for your help with this. The children in our class are always aware of a friend who is missing and we like to be able to share why he or she is not at school on that day. If your child is not feeling well, please keep them home and allow them time to recuperate. This helps keep everyone healthy. Please let myself and the office know if someone other than you will be picking up your child on any given day.

Food/Lunch/Allergies

With all children sharing lunch together, please send in simple, nutritious and manageable items. Please watch for what and how much food comes home each day and make appropriate adjustments. We do have a microwave available to warm up food, and milk and water are available to have with lunch each day. Try to let your child be involved in some way with what they pack for lunch. Perhaps they pack it, maybe they know what’s in it, and maybe this happens on some days. We have cashew and pistachio allergies this year so we ask that you avoid these. Thank you for your help in keeping all children healthy and safe.

Community Participation

Our community information and ways to help can be found on our website and through our Tuesday communications (right here see above). We ask parents to volunteer to provide our morning snack ingredients as well as milk for lunch each day and fresh flowers to arrange and enjoy each week. There is a sign-up for laundry to be taken home weekly, either on Wednesday or Friday, each month. There is a wish list of consumables we use in the classroom as well as a ‘wish list’ for books we would like to add to our library. Thank you for contributing to the life in our classroom. As conferences approach you will find a sign-up calendar on-line. You can schedule observation times to sit in our classroom and have glimpse into our days. If you need help on-line, please talk to Monica, mwright@sunstonemontessori.org.

Although there are not a lot of ways to participate inside your child’s classroom, there are many ways to support the classroom and the whole community. Aside from our community on-line sign-ups, which help contribute to the Butterfly classroom, you can volunteer in many other ways! We have fundraising events, committees, our annual gala and auction, needed help of various projects around our campus. So, if you have a little time and would like to help and get involved, please talk to Monica.

Conferences/ Parent Child Open House (Classroom Sharing)

We offer parent/teacher conferences twice a year, in the fall and spring. This year they are November 8-9, and April 25-26. We provide a parent/child open house; evening of sharing two times a year with you being your child’s guest. Those dates are October 18th and January 31st. These are wonderful opportunities for you to get an idea of how your child spends their day. We also have parent nights throughout the year offering parent education, insight into Montessori curriculum and a time to gather together and connect as a community.

Social Opportunities

We have some social opportunities coming up early in the year. There is the family campout at Oxbow Park September 22-23. Come camp out or join families for the day. We have a Fall Mixer on October 4th from 6-7:30, adults only. Come join other parents for a glass of wine and snacks. Our Fall Festival is Saturday, October 6th. This is lovely family gathering to celebrate the season. Our annual auction/gala is March 2nd. This is a fun way to come together as a community and support our school.

Monthly Butterfly Newsletter

I send out a Butterfly community newsletter each month sharing what is happening in the classroom and what events are coming up. Each family has a folder with news from the classroom, the office, and such. I pass this information along to you at the end of each day.

Spanish and Outdoor Program

We are happy to have our specialists add to the children’s experiences each week. Mariana comes to do Spanish lessons with the children each week on Fridays. She gathers small groups and each child has a turn. She offers Spanish words for items the children are familiar with, colors, counting, and very concrete objects. She joins us for lunch occasionally on Friday as well and the children adore her. We welcome Kristen, our outdoor specialist, each week on Wednesday to take a group of children, usually four, to join her for some outdoor project such as planting, watering, observing, or going for a nature walk. We rotate through all of the children. This is a special outing that the children look forward to.

Appropriate Clothing

Please dress your child appropriately for the weather each day. We plan to get out for fresh air and exercise each day! We do not have adequate space in our classroom to hold each child’s boots, raincoats, or other rain gear. This is a great benefit of inside shoes – your child can wear rain boots to school and then change into other shoes for their day in the classroom. Please have your child wear clothing, including shoes that they can easily manage on their own. This helps the children to be successful in putting their belongings away when they arrive, get their outdoor things on when going to the playground and going home for the day. We strive for independence! Thank you for your cooperation.

Set a Good Example

Please walk with your child on campus and in our hallways. We can all help to be respectful and set a good example of caring for our school campus and being considerate of others walking outside or working inside any given classroom or common space.

Green School

We are proud to be a green school and we love to reuse, recycle and limit our waste. Please consider recycling your child’s ribbons, cloths, bags, etc. that may come home with their work. We are happy to reuse them and it helps keep the work stocked for the children’s use. Consider using easel painting paper for gift wrapping! Thank you.

Support Your Child and Happy Mornings – No Media Before School

Please, please do not allow television time before school in the morning! Television is not conducive to active participation in one’s life. The passive activity of watching a screen is in opposition to what happens in a Montessori Children’s House classroom.  When your child does watch television or screens at other times, consider the content of the programs, the amount of screen time watching television, movies, computers or phones, and make sure it includes educational and family time. There is my soap box!

Please allow enough time in the mornings to foster a happy beginning to your child’s day. Allow your child to do as much for herself as she can. Involve your child in as much preparation for the day as possible. Remain aware of your child’s sleep needs so that they are in bed early enough to allow them to be truly rested in the morning. For this age child, the recommended amount of sleep is twelve hours each night! Perhaps some things can be planned for the night before. Check the weather when picking out clothing, limit choices that are appropriate for the weather. Pack or discuss lunch options. By allowing this time in the morning you can encourage your child’s desire for independence. You can have more time for early morning hugs and quality together time, which always starts the day positive for everyone!

Sunstone Friday

Fridays are Sunstone t-shirt day! Wear blue and show school spirit! We also have an assembly once a month and our first of the year is this Friday. It is fun, happy way to end the week.

Thank you so much for helping your child to fully experience our days in the classroom together with the benefit of this knowledge. It is a joy to spend my days with your children, thank you!

Warmly,

Carolann

From Carolann – Back to School and Fall Mixer

We are having a Fall Mixer on Thursday, October 4th from 6:00 to 7:30. This is for adults only as we gather in the classroom to enjoy a glass of wine and light snacks. It is a fun and informal way to meet and visit with other parents.

From Room Parents – Upcoming Events

Hello everyone!

The beginning of the school year is a busy time so we wanted to highlight some of the upcoming events for the butterfly room.

Thursday, September 13th-Back to school night.  6:00 pm to 7:30 pm in the Butterfly Room.

This is a great chance to meet other parents and chat with Carolann.  Childcare is filling up fast! Only a couple of spots left so click here if needed!  This is parent only event.

Thursday, October 4th-We are having a ‘Fall Mixer’ 6:00 pm-7:30 pm.

All classrooms are doing it at the same time in their classrooms. We are hoping it will allow parents with multiple children to stop by each of their child’s classroom on the same evening. I hope you can all make it.

This is an adult only event.  Each classroom will be contributing their own wine and snack.  (wines, cheeses, crackers, nuts, fruit, etc.)

If you would like to contribute any beverages or snacks please email me @ Christine.ashby@comcast.net  so that we will know what else to bring to the event.

Lastly, if you haven’t already signed up for milk, snack & flowers and laundry duty on the SignUpGenius please click here to do so.  This is very important for our classroom and really shows support for guides and all that they do!  The children love arranging the flowers.  The children help prepare the snack in the morning and the variety of snacks gives an opportunity for children to stay energized and try things they may not have had in their own home.  If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to ask us.  Thank you so much!!!

We hope to see everyone Thursday!

Warmly,

Christine Christine.ashby@comcast.net

From Carolann – June News

It is with joy, love, and appreciation that I say thank you for a wonderful year. A few more days of school and I wish you a happy summer!

End of Year Potluck BBQ

Our End of the Year potluck and BBQ is Thursday, June 14th beginning at 5:00pm. We will set up in the classroom and spread out on the front lawn. This is a really nice way to end the year together. The BBQ will be going, everyone can bring a dish to share and we will enjoy delicious tastes while celebrating our time together this past year.  Potluck sign-ups are available on line. We will be honoring our graduating friends on this occasion. I look forward to spending time with you!

Butterflies

We released our Painted Lady Butterflies into our gardens. We watched our tiny caterpillars grow and make their chrysalises and then emerge into butterflies! We gathered flowers and offered fruit while in their temporary habitat so the children could watch and admire them in the classroom before releasing them.

Summer Watering Needed

Please consider helping to water our gardens over the summer. Please sign up for a week (or share with another family) to water and help keep our gardens green and thriving. Sign-ups are available here. Thank you.

Gratitude

Our snack ingredients and beautiful flowers (many from your own yards) have been provided by the families of Kathryn, Lily, Aiden, and Amit. Thank you so much for adding to the daily life in our classroom.

Our classroom laundry was graciously done by Mirabelle and Sebastian and family and Amit and family for the month of June. Thank you for helping with this task. We are grateful.

We have many thanks to offer…Thank you to Fern and family for the collage fun! The children love creating with different things. Thank you to Eleanor for the fun, colorful feathers to add to our collage work. Thank you to Ashton for the eggshells for grinding and the oranges for juicing. Both treasured works. Thank you to Sadie for sharing roses from her garden. Thank you to Arlo for sharing peonies from his garden. Such lovely blooms to grace our days. Thank you to Amit for the snails to add to our fish tank. I am sure they will help keep things clean of algae. We appreciate your generous, thoughtful gifts for our classroom.

Thank you to Leah, mom to Lily, and Carrie, mom to Bailey, for being our room parents and helping to take care of me, our classroom needs and bring us together. I am deeply grateful for all of your time, energy and commitment to the Butterfly community. You are amazing!

We had the pleasure of caring for Lily’s frogs while she was traveling. The children loved watching them in their habitat, seeing them eat fruit flies and crickets, and try to locate them each day. It was a treat!

Send in a bag Friday

On Friday we will be packing up your child’s work and personal belongings. If you could send in a bag with them that would be most helpful. Thank you!

Thank you for sharing your children with us each day, for your love and support. Emilie and I will see many of you back in the fall. I wish you all a wonderful summer with your families. Relax and have fun!

From Carolann – News

Dear Parents of the Butterfly Community,

Oh my goodness, how could it be March already? After the late wintery weather and snow, the hint of Spring is in the air. We delight in the sunshine when it pours in our windows, we hear the birds singing outside, and we admire the buds and blooms on the flowers in our gardens. It is an honor to welcome a new season with these amazing children, each bringing something of their own to our community.

Join us!

Our annual Gala/Auction is coming up. Please join Emilie and me, along with many of our families for an evening of fun and socializing while supporting our school. The children have been working on creations to add to the auction offerings. Fern’s mom, Vanessa, is putting another quilt together for us with the children’s embroidery, buttons, and little touches. The theme this year is Stone Soup as it has been so meaningful to this group of children. It is going to be fabulous! We of course are making our famous button mirror. Our color scheme this year is reds, oranges, and yellows. If you come across buttons of these colors please send them in! You will love this happy and fun creation. We are having a lot of fun participating in our Butterfly way. Thank you all for your support.

Happy Birthday

We celebrated Madox’s birthday as he turned four. Madox shared happy photos of his life and a festive snack. Happiest Birthday wishes Madox!

Parent/Child Sharing

Our second Parent/Child open house ‘evening of sharing’ was lovely as always. It is an honor to observe as the children share their classroom and love of the materials with you. Thank you for making time with your child.

Stone Soup

It seems so long ago, but our stone soup adventure was a great success and so much fun! The children loved adding ingredients, reading the story, watching it cook and smelling it blend together, and some of the children even tried eating it! Thank you for helping us make this happen. It was a spur of the moment idea and very special.

Gratitude

We have thanks to offer…Thank you to Mirabelle and Sebastian for the coffee beans to add to our grinding work, and for the egg cups to add to our classroom. Thank you to Arlo for the bouquet of flowers to add to our flower arranging work, just because. We really enjoy and appreciate your thoughtful and generous contributions!

A gratitude of thanks once again, from both Emilie and myself for the very generous gifts. We have loved collecting things to brighten our lives and keep us warm and cozy. We truly appreciate your thoughtfulness.

New Friends

We welcomed two new friends this month. Please help me welcome brothers Brody and Madox and dad Bill into our Butterfly community. We are so happy to have you join us.

We say goodbye to Neela and wish her and her family the very best. Neela left to go to a school closer to home. We hope the New Year brings good things to them.

Happy Birthday

We read some stories and had conversations about Martin Luther King, Jr. and his important role in our history. It resonates true to the children the importance of treating one another respectfully and equally. Peace is a meaningful part in the daily life in our classroom.

Stone Soup!

You may have heard your child share with you their love of this story we often read in the classroom. Several children even wanted to take the recipe home and I know a few of you tried it out. We are going to make our own Stone Soup in the classroom this week! Please sign up to bring an ingredient to add to the pot and we will get everything in the crock pot to heat up and have a taste with lunch on Thursday, January 18th. Thank you for making this happen. I think it will be a lot of fun!

Welcome back Butterfly children and families!

It is so nice to see the smiling faces of children in the classroom. The children are so happy to be back and reconnect with one another. They have grown so much! It was fun to share stories of summer adventures and hear what everyone has been up to. Emilie and I really enjoyed working in the classroom getting ready for the children and they loved seeing what was new, what was different, and finding treasures around the room.

I hope you all had a wonderful summer. I look forward to Autumn; the cooler weather and change of season! Welcome Back

Carolann

From Room Parents – Welcome!

Butterfly Families,

Welcome back, new and returning families, to another amazing year in the Butterfly Room! We would like to introduce ourselves as the classroom parents for our class. Leah’s daughter Lily will be starting her third year, and Carrie’s daughter Bailey will be starting her second year. Our responsibilities as classroom parents are varied, and we would like to take this opportunity to let you know what we do and how we might be able to answer questions, offer support and help share ideas among parents of children in the Butterfly room.

We are here to support Carolann and Emilie in ways such as informing you about volunteer opportunities and donations needed for the classroom. Volunteer sign-ups can be found on our online volunteer program, SignupGenius, and in the weekly email announcements you’ll receive from the school. We encourage you to sign up so you can fulfill your community volunteer hours. This is a huge benefit for our school, because it is through these volunteer efforts that we build many aspects of our successful community. Please let us know if you want any insight into volunteer opportunities and what they entail.

We also organize all of the community events for our classroom. We typically try to hold a few parent-only gatherings per year, such as meeting for coffee after drop-off, or for drinks in the evening. We also like to do a couple of student events throughout the year, to encourage social activities outside of school for the students, provide an opportunity for parents to interact and connect, and help organize our winter solstice activities and gather supplies for our classroom’s annual Auction contribution, “The Button Mirror”.

Finally, we want to inform you about the classroom wish list. The wish list is comprised of items Carolann and Emilie would like to have for our classroom, to inspire and encourage student interests. Some of the listed items are from Montessori Catalog Services, and there will be a fundraiser this fall through Montessori Catalog Services called Small Hands. This fundraiser will give you the chance to order some of the classroom wish list items, as well as earn a Montessori Catalog Services credit for Sunstone which offsets the cost of future classroom items. We encourage you to contribute wish list items, whether or not through the Small Hands fundraiser, as your contributions will help our school to replace or increase classroom materials for our children to utilize. Your donation also counts toward volunteer hours!

Butterfly Get Together

We will be having our first Butterfly parent child gathering with a Popsicle social, September 5 on the front lawn immediately after 1:00pm dismissal. Please join us!

More upcoming events:

Back to School Night September 14
