Danielle’s Montessori journey began right here in Portland where she attended the Franciscan Montessori Earth School for her elementary years. Her time in Montessori school was formative for Danielle and paved the way for a life of curiosity, wonder, and joyful exploration. After graduating from the University of Oregon with a degree in International Studies, Danielle spent a year traveling in Argentina while working with organic farms and community garden organizations. Back home she continued to explore the world of education and farming, working for a food justice non-profit in Oakland and completing the Ecological Horticulture program at UC Santa Cruz. Danielle returned to Portland to work as a goat wrangler, garden educator, and food pantry coordinator before completing her AMI training and Master’s in Education in 2014. She joined Sunstone in 2016 and is excited to be moving into her fourth year as the Camassia assistant.
