Carolann Zinda

Carolann first experienced the beauty of Montessori through the eyes of a child. Her niece was in a Children’s House classroom and Carolann was captivated by the Montessori approach. She spent a year as a classroom assistant and knew this was what she was meant to do.

She completed her primary training at the Montessori Institute Northwest in 1991 and taught in Liberty Lake, Washington where she lived with her husband before starting her own family. After staying home while her children were young, she joined Sunstone (then Two Rivers), to start the Children’s House program.

This will be Carolann’s 18th year in the Butterfly classroom. Bringing more than a decade of Montessori experience to the Butterfly classroom, Carolann’s warmth and graciousness fill the classroom with a special ambiance. She brings enthusiasm, joy, energy, and love for the children to the rich learning environment she has created.

A Montessori parent of two, one in college and one just out of college, and a Portland native, Carolann enjoys her spare time cooking for friends and family, gardening, walking, movies, board games, the Oregon coast, time at the lake, and spending time with her family.
